Personally I have no experience with MT gearing to offer on this. Tho, big boo who the other forum did have threads on this. However, I’ve kind of forgot about what folks did or thought. Tho, -1 front I think was regarded as real wheelie demo bike stuff And -1 rear more about lenghting the wheel base. Hope this helps That just about sums it up 👍 Cheers. And I’ll add in; that I’m for staying with standard gearing 👍

Hey guys thanks for the info regarding the 42 tooth rear sprocket and Troyster did you notice any difference in fuel consumption and have you used a speedo healer or such like due to the altered gearing? Tempted to buy and fit while the snow is making a guest appearance!

Tempted to buy and fit while the snow is making a guest appearance! Cant´t really say what the MT10 does, but my old MT09 ABS meassured the speed via the wheelspeed-sensors. If that is the case with the MT10 aswell, no need for Speedohealer...?

I suspect a tooth off the back will correct the speedo - ie stop it over-reading by 10ish percent, which is what it does.

My point is, that measuring at the wheelsensors and not at the front-sprocket (gearbox), if that is the case, will not alter the overreading at the dash if geared differently. No matter the gearing, it will allways show the actual speed (incl the allways apparent overreading)

Nice. I think standard gearing is ok. Standard gearing is a hoot on the road - it's just I think the bike wheelieing whether you want it to or not - out of every corner on the track up to 3rd gear is going to send me insane! I think 3rd is going to be the most used gear on track and I want to be able to get 100% throttle without dealing with constant wheelies. The slight lengthening of the wheelbase going to 42 teeth, plus the longer gearing should just take the edge off 3rd. I'm sure it'll still wheelie you you sit up - 1 tooth off isn't going to turn it into a mild-mannered commuter!
