Having had the Yamaha heated grips fitted from delivery, I have finally lost patience with their poor heat output 😡
I have always needed heated grips on all my bikes, even during spring/autumn time due to poor circulation in my fingers, but the Yamaha grips are possibly the worst I have ever had - my Ducati’s grips are far superior even after setting the Yam grips to Max!
Trying to fit some Oxford grips instead, but whilst disassembling have noticed that the throttle side diameter looks fine at 25.6mm I.D. but the Oxford clutch side are 22mm I.D. Which looks too small in comparison with what appears to be fitted at present! 😤
I don’t want to remove the clutch grip without being confident the new one will fit??
Has anyone fitted these grips (EL692 UK) I have the touring MT10.
Or does anyone know what the correct size should be for the bars?
Cheers Tim

“Did you ensure that the Yamaha grips were programmed for over 600cc bike,
There are many threads on how to configure them for the over 600cc bike where they operate much warmer.”
Thanks for the heads up Xplane👍 yes I had set them for max output, but still for me they were too cool🥶
Have now completed installation of Oxford grips and they seem much better🤓
Just waiting for this CV19 to clear up 🤞🏼and will try them on the road🏍
Stay safe everyone!

I Totally agree,i did the same, they were the worst ever and i fitted the oxford touring hotgrips, think they do 3 or 4 types the touring one's you don't have to trim them,i never glue the throttle side,i have just bought another mt10 and have the grips ready to fit, will be doing them midweek, you can still get the oxfords for £49.95.

Allegedly the 1st Yamaha Heated Grips only had heating elements around on half of the grips diameter.
Later latest ones have elements around the entire diameter.
