Fitted some SW motech panniers today they look really good and when removed the bracket don't look ugly. Great option if your considering a weekend away

Agree... The SW Motech Panniers bags (and the same Yamaha's MT-09 soft Panniers) are great and fit real neat. Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Yep, when they are not on there's just a very small bracket visible behind / beside the rear footrest hangers showing. Another benefit of these saddle bag type Panniers is that you can have Yamaha's rear rack fitted on too; (with or without an optional top box)

Anybody know if these will fit with tail tidy fitted? + 1 on that, pics would be great ...... i would like a set of SW Motech quick release pannier rails to use with some soft bags, but from pictures it looks like the cross brace may foul on the number plate when fitted with a tail tidy.

I don’t have a tail tidy. Tho, I say it looks like Stock indicators might touch. Guess shorter ones could be sorted.

I fitted SW Motech panniers to the MT10 yesterday. The mounting brackets are fairly unobtrusive when fitted without the panniers and rails. I’m quite happy with the quality of them except I’d been happier if the mounting brackets were aluminium instead of steel and the nuts and bolts were stainless to prevent future corrosion.
I’ve got a couple of trips planned next year plus my daily commute is about to rise from 6 miles to about 10 times that so I’ll need somewhere to pack my sarnies and waterproofs and these panniers will cope with that task.
I paid £271 for the panniers and mounting kit which seemed reasonable value when compared to Yamaha’s own luggage options.

I bought some Givi quick release pannier racks and v35 panniers,i thought good value at £450 and you only leave small brackets like the motec stuff and you can get a helmet in each pannier, they look massive from the back but unbelievably they are slightly less wide than the mirrors[with 40mm extenders on] I have only put them on once and did a short ride to see if the bike felt wide but have decided that because of the bikes limited range and the terrible headlights i am going to buy a 2nd bike for the touring work,so the frames are for sale, going to keep the panniers for the next bike,it all fits with a tail tidy and oem indicators, frames are £150+ post if anyone is interested.
