Hi All, I'm actually from the USA but the MT10 forum is kind of dull over here. I live in Massachusetts and the majority of bikes here are loud slow Harleys. I'm 63 and not a Harley guy in any way shape or form. In the last few years I've owned a 16 Ducati Scrambler, then an XSR900 which was totaled along with myself when I got hit in a parking lot when it was 6 weeks old, then an FJ09 which I loved but traded after a year for a 2019 MT10 about 2 weeks ago. I'm a member of the MT10 forum in the USA but I find that you Brits have much cooler attitudes and view points about motorcycles in general versus Americans. Yes there are some cool Americans but most of the people that ride the type of bikes that I do tend to be 40 years younger than me. So I was hoping to hang out here once in a while.
I've managed to put about 220 miles on the new MT10 and I love it. I put heated grips on it, a Puig touring screen, mirror extenders, and spools. Last night I ordered a Delkevic exhaust which I had on my FJ09 and was impressed with the bang for the buck. I figured I can buy 3 for the price of some of the premium brands and I'm not that sure that the premuim brands are giving you triple the value. Today I'm waiting for it to warm up and going over to the local performance shop and order a K-Tech rear shock and am going try and go with springs only for the front. I had K-Tech front and rear on my FJ09 and I love it. The MT10 is pretty rough with stock suspension and I'm not even going to waste time with it. I'm also sending my ECU out to be flashed this week. I think that'll be good for a while.
New bike with my Airedale checking it out.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Definitely space for a yank! We have an aussie too and some Europeans I think so why the hell not. Welcome.

Welcome matey. Enjoy the site. It’s a little slow here but you have to take into account it’s winter over here. Do us a favour though.......remove that fecking ugly tail and stick a nice clean tail tidy and small tag on it! I run the K-Tech DDS Lite on mine and standard fork spring which have been dialled in. I’m around 14.5 stones or 92kg ish or just over 200 pounds in yank speak. It handles well IMO.

In fact we've had 2 snows since Nov. 1 and unusually cold weather for almost 2 months now. I picked up my new MT10 3 weeks ago but in spite of the cold weather I've managed to put over 300 miles already. Was out today in fact. I took off that reflector bar on the rear end but I usually leave the stock tail on just because it keeps the rain off your back. I went down to buy the K-Tech DDS Lite today but they were closed for the holidays. I guess I can wait a few more days. I could buy online but I figure I'll support our local performance shop. I don't know how to figure out how many stones I am except that I'm more than 14.5 and will need to do the front springs. I pulled my ECU off and will send it out to be flashed and ordered a new exhaust last night so we're moving in the right direction. I knew K-Tech was great on my last bike but now I am spoiled and this bike needs it bad. You can tell that the handling is there on this bike but it needs a good rear shock in order to reach it's full potential. I love K-Tech.

Nice one dude. You’ll find the ten is set up softly BUT there are effective adjustments available. The suspension isn’t too bad for a standard bike but you need to adjust it away from standard settings.
Enjoy the new bike fella. They’re awesome.

Welcome chesterburnet
We are living proof age is just a number, I'm also 63 standing next to my bike, 23 as soon as a leg gets thrown over the Banshee. Yep, I have to agree, this forum has a bit more banter than the USA forum. Being from Australia we just don't have the numbers to sustain our own MT10 forum so I have used this one and a previous UK forum as the knowledge font. Added bonus, some Brit humour and practical jokes thrown in for good measure. (have you heard how to change the colour of your dash using your horn on start up) 🤣😂🤣 Sorry geoffbot but that one still cracks me up. A lot of us have had our MT10's a couple of years now so if you have questions there is quite a few guys on here with a wealth of knowledge.
Cheers

Welcome Chester,
Now there’s plenty of room here, at this inn, mate.
Bet you are very vigilant in parking lots, sorry to hear you and 09 got smashed up, the 10 has more presence and is so much more of a real around brilliant bike. And I mean brilliant. I’ve done 19000 happy miles on mine.
The Airedale looks like yeah that bike gonna get lots of use and attention. Rear shock changes it for the better. I did a year then upgraded to a Nitron R3.
Enjoy it all.

Enjoy it all. I actually wrecked a 2016 XSR900 and replaced with a 2017 FJ09 (MT09 over here). I love those triples but you're right, the 10 is amazing. It's sitting in the garage apart right now waiting for reflashed ECU and exhaust. I looked at Nitron but they don't have much presence over here in the USA so it's K-Tech for me. The Airedale is a trip. She likes to monitor everything that is going on.

If you’re doing a Decat I’d suggest the Leo Vince baffled one as the full decat is totally off the wall! I like loud bikes but the Leo takes the edge off just a little and a full decat deffo needs the edge taken off!

I was considering it, not now. I know the Leo vince has a deadening chamber built-in - don't know how much quieter it is.
