Chaps - I'm thinking of getting a new can. I've read lots here but I'm a bit confused - I need a few answers please: Will changing just the end can make it louder? The stock can has no baffle, right? So a new can with a baffle will be quieter? Where is the cat, do I want to remove it? What else do I need to know?! I like the look of this www.spengineering.co.uk/yamaha-mt10-round-hc-r-stubby-carbon-fibre-exhaust.html - it says no remap etc is required. Any idea how loud it will be? I don't want a remap and I don't want it too loud. Cheers

The end can change wont make much difference, the sound deadening is in the cat, the cat is between the can and headers, if you take the cat out it will be loud, but you can put a baffle into some cans to quieten it, but that wont make a huge difference to the noise, the remap would help no matter if you change the can or not, helps smooth the throttle response, a remap isnt essential though.

Exuptoy pointed me in the direction of the Leovince decat link pipe, as it has a noise reduction chamber. I kept the original end can and I love the sound. Not too harsh and doesn’t fry your brain on a long run.

Ditto. I fitted the sp engineering can too. Without the baffle you can still get through Boise testing for a track day. It’s throatier than the standard can. And for about £200 so money well spent. Oh. And looks much nicer.

I also prefer the look of the cat on the bike (don’t get me wrong I’d like to extract more power but for now ) it just looks in keeping with the proportions of the rest of the beast if that makes sense?
