Hi guys, so I bought the mt10sp in the end. What im needing is information on the decat link pipe etc does anyone do the link pipe with the exup valve? Other than graves i have the slip on Akro but I'm reading with the decat link pipe it's too frickin loud? Thoughts? also I'm getting a ecu flash by hilltop mc by Geoff Wale. Im thinking if I can decat but have the exup valve still it will be lower Db's at tickover and in town slow riding low rpm.. plus you still get low down grunt. Whats the best link to go on the Oem headers? The bike came with the slip on Akro so I might as well use it. It's just too polite like the oem can. I want loud but not stupid loud. Be nice to keep the exup valve too but I'm waiting for your thoughts. All this was easy on my FZ1-n thanks guys for any useful info. Delta

Not much info to look at there. Is it build your own? If so I'm not into that as I've not got the know how or tools etc. I'd rather buy one Or am I missing something here? Is it a join a Facebook group thing?

Can't help regarding the exup but the Leo Vince has a baffled header which tones it down nicely. ibb.co/KxT580z

Not sure on which route to take but I’ve been offered the titanium akropovic link pipe for £300. The Leo pipe is a good option to have it loud without being obnoxious yes?

Hi,
i have a akra end can and link pipe. Is loud however a genuine akra baffle can be bought from a company called calsport (£50ish) This reduces the noise to near that of the akra end can and cat, but has a bit more growl.

Yeah, the Leo has a lovely note to it but is still fairly loud.

I have added the OEM valve to the Leo Vince Decat. All is needed is to cut and solder it back on the decat pipe making sire length and direction does not get screwed. The bike is just slightly louder at tickover, it is inaudible over the wind noise cruising at legal speeds, and gets noticed from far away when on the throttle.

I have been thinking about this although the space under the seat from the now vacated servo motor is handy. Did you get it TIG welded with it being a stainless item? Also did you have to put a little bypass tube alongside the valve for when it is closed. I noticed ghostrider.1127 also fitted the exup valve to his R1M engined MT-10 and he made a bypass section in the pipework. Do you have any pictures?

Yeah, I saw your one, was just wondering what the OP did, if he did it any differently. Been contemplating it since I saw yours.

The only way of keeping the noise down with a genuinely full power system is to go for the Graves system with the optional EXUP, a full system with a baffle will lose you around 10 bhp peak power with the baffle in and with the baffle out you'll never get within 100 yards of a UK track day! MT-10s and R1s with traditional full systems are bloody loud. Dunno if it's a feature of the cross-plane but I've seen a lot of R1 boys having all sorts of trouble getting their bikes through trackday noise tests.

I have to add that the difference in power between the leo vince plus valve and the akra link pipe is about 6hp going for the akra. Every small restriction that is added have a small effect on power. Do i care? not a bit.
