Note DIY changing the Fork Oil is not easy:
1) To begin with an ABBA type Bike Stand is required for removing the Forks. 2) A specific Spring Compressor tool and suitable slotted plate to hold damper rod are essential. 3) Two people are (briefly) needed for the rebuild, one to push down the spring and the other to lift up the damper rod and insert the slotted flat plate (thingy) to keep the damper rod up for the screwing on of the Fork cap.
Posted this as some bikes are now at the few years old mark now.
My bike has around 16k miles on it and I must say changing Fork Oil was not a breeze.
However, there is (a possible placebo affect) actual noticeable benefit from the nice new oil being in there now. So I’m happy to have renewed it. But its not a job for the faint hearted and / or those without the skills and the mentioned kit oh and the all important extra pair of (instructable) hands are needed.

Nope!! Never ever would I attempt this. LOL I know a mechanic that even says no and he refers people on to a suspension technician. Oh and an Abba type bike stand is essential too, to remove the forks.

Good info. Thanks.
The Abba stand alone is £400 mind and while you get to keep it but that's a big outlay. Probably cheaper and less hassle to get it done elsewhere.
Do have a pic of the tool you describe to compress the spring out of interest?

Here it is; ready to be pushed down for other person to screw the fork cap cap back onto the damper rod.

You don't need an ABBA stand. Any conventional under yoke stand will work as they support the front of the bike from the headstock, not the fork legs.
