Does anyone know if an aftermarket 2016 R1 shock will fit the MT10?

Not sure.... I Think that the R1 has ride height / length adjustment. Think I read that the R1 shock is shorter but R1 shocks tend to have lenght adjustment which may if has may cope. Though an R1’s damping and bump rates maybe on the too tight side for even fast road use. Perfect solution is get a Nitron R3 Shock specifically sprung for your weight and damped for the MT-10 and riding style with excellent adjusters. £786 including vat. www.nitron.co.uk/catalogue_item.php?catID=13459&prodID=87238Nitron is a top-notch truly adjustable awesome shock; that’s as good as if not (I’ll say far) better than an Öhlins for sure. It’s a world of difference better by zillions from stock shock.

Yes I like the nitron and would have one in a heartbeat but trying to save money and get a second hand one. I get the spring weight but didn’t think there was any other difference sure the length is the same but wondered if the piggyback bit would fit. I think selling me yours would be the simplest solution 😁

Bloody kids had i had no as many I could be retired and have a garge full of bikes Lol. At least you maintain (or grew) a sense of humour. A Mate’s wife said it was “her or the bikes” he said he would be glad to remove all the pillon feet rests as that would make the bike would look better, lol. She said bikes would not look after him in old age; he said research showed bikers suffered less mental illness and lived longer and could she leave her gloves as hers fitted him. True, story he is now 70 and has many girl friends since her and a few more kids too.

Yes well it’s been a constant battle between bikes and the wife, after 15 years she has finally admitted defeat and no longer asks how much they and the bits cost, the only rule I have to abide by is no more than two and one in one out, which is a compromise I can just about live with, considering I had about 9 bikes when we met I think she is doing well.
