Put the bike away a couple weeks ago and not been touched since as had an OP on my shoulder, so took the bike out today to put a new set of levers on it, once fitted i put engine on to check the clutch adjustment and engine light was on, i am thinking coincidence, as the lever change cant throw an engine light fault? What else can cause it?
Also does anyone have a link to an OBD adapter cable?
In a day or two (Shoulder not strong enough yet to work with it 2 days on the trot) to satisfy my curiosity i am putting old levers back on to see what happens. As the previous engine fault i have in the past run it on paddock stand to lub chain with no issues, but hasnt had chain lubed since put away pre op, so doubt it anything to do with that. Any ideas, suggestions appreciated? The yearly service is due in a few weeks but would prefer a solution before it goes for service.

As a quick guess, brake lever and adjustment with the brake light switch. Only problem is even if you put the old lever back on I would think the engine light would have to be reset to see if that’s it. That’s the problem with all the tech going the same way as cars where you can’t touch them and they need to go back to the dealership. The readers are only about £30 of ebay.

Quick update, it was a speed sensor issue, bought OBD adaptor cable and read the code, P2158, so looks like it was lubing the chain on paddock stand with engine running, i always do it the same way and no issues until this one, at least i now have the cable to rest it any other time it happens.
