Hi all just got to say I have or had the genuine Yamaha soft bag panniers MT10 one's and brackets and one came off on the motorway. Sure it was locked on properly as I normally click it on then pull up on the handle all secure and ok Anyway the manual that came with the bags says don't go over 80mph with em I was doing between 80 -100 on motorway bit bumpy felt a wobble back wheel slid a tad got home only one pannier. Shame coz couldn't fault them otherwise.

The quality of the locks on the Yamaha panniers is dreadful, I had the opposite problem, mine have welded themselves on - it was a real struggle to free my pannier locks when they were just 4 months old.

Opps about your bye bye (not buy buy) bounce-off pannier... Not a good ad for those genuine panniers. Hope there was nothing valuable in it... Bet car drivers had a few few (& view view) moments dodging it. Ify locks too then. Mnnn, (my pennies worth is) I kept / reused and fitted on Yamaha saddle bag panniers from my MT-09; which on trips have been grand and they are the same as the SW Mototech panniers bags for the MT-10. 👍

Frustrating eh o well I will still use my other one just not all the time as I am getting a Kriega us dry pack. And while I'm at it some waterproof gloves pants and disk lock which all went on vacation with the pannier. Nice view by the way xplane

Nice view by the way xplane 😬 a Possible Trip back up the motorway if it bounced off to hardshoulder (me, I did not say that)... The View is on way into Harz Mountains, Germany. I now carry good waterproof overmitts; which maybe a far less costly option and they only take up very little space too.

O I went straight back up and down the motorway and pulled up on the hard shoulder where I had the wobble had a good butcher's but couldn't find a thing

Bad luck mate, slightly different solution for me, looked at large Yamaha top box, it wouldn’t take two full face lids and build quality was crap, can’t fault my Givi, bikes used for everything now, shopping, beach, picnics, Oh and last but not least scratching with mates Thunderace and Ducati, I now have luggage envy 🤣👍

Oh and last but not least scratching with mates Thunderace and (snip) I had a ThunderAce before my R1 in the late 90s - damn good bike, very underrated; Better on bumpy British B-roads than supposedly sportier machines that would try to slap you into a hedge.

This 10 pack fits 2 nutty box's spare waterproof gloves disk lock in main bit. There is a mesh pocket underneath which fits the inner layer of my jacket and the top pocket fits a kindle helmet bag and neck tube ideal for work or trackdays

I heard car horns sounding and looked in the mirrors to see it bouncing down the road like one of Barnes Wallis’ dambuster bombs.
