Hi guys, I'm currently in the market for an MT-10, but I have been looking into alarms and the likes. Now I am not keen on having the wiring attacked by anyone (professional or otherwise) on a new bike, so I was hoping for some kind of "plug & play" option and to my amazement there is such a device. You can get the Meta DefcomT with dedicated Yamaha harness. It will convert the OEM (Thatchem CAT-2) immobiliser into a full fledged Thatchem CAT-1 system by literally just connecting 2 plugs. Link here for those what want a nosey.... abacuscaralarms.co.uk/alarmshop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=330However, in order to use it the bike HAS to have the alarm connectors present and after speaking with the seller they could not tell me if the MT-10 has these connectors. I would assume it does, but you know what they say, to assume makes an ass out of you & me. So I'm hoping someone on here can have a look and let me know if their bike has it. Image of the connectors is below. If someone can have a look and let me know if the MT-10 has them that would be great! NOTE: The seller said they could be anywhere below the seat area including under the rear light or under the rear of the petrol tank. They could be behind side panels and hidden in a rubber boot or just hanging loose. Thanks in advance!

Hi Mario sorry can't help you there but the MT10 does come ready with plugs for the heated grips /quick shifter so there is a good chance there are plugs for the alarm somewhere

Thanks hnick1. Don't suppose you or someone else would mind popping out to your bike & taking off the seat to have a quick look please? I imagine it's probably not too difficult to spot if they are there.

Right, so I managed to get an answer to my question. The MT-10 does not have the alarm plugs included and you have to hard wire it. However there are only 6 or 7 wires in total, so not a big deal and there are ways to still fit it without splicing into factory wiring, so I'm happy with that.
