I thought I might put a longer bar into the standard mirrors. On Monday I was collecting the bike from 'Hursts' after its first service and asked the mechanic if they, by any chance, had a broken mirror that I could experiment with - to work out how to get the mirror off the bar without breaking it. The kind man gave me a pair of MT125 (I think) mirrors which look exactly the same as the MT10. Upon getting them home I found that the stalks are, in fact about 30 mm longer than the MT10's. They screwed directly on ....Perfect! The 125 bottom swivel seems to have a much lighter spring in it, so I screwed the stalk into the original MT10 swivels.
I still need to do some high speed tests to check the top swivel does not move in the wind. It is possibly has a lighter spring too. I will let you know how it goes.

Mnn, who is the dude at the bottom of your lane in your 2nd photo ^. Looks suspicious to me. Hope your MT is well locked up. Envious eyes. A detective told me once I should have been a detective, lol.

Haha, well spotted ‘X’, it’s ok he’s a mate who was walking his 2 bull mastiffs! I tend not to hang around when the bike is out as there are too many bad people about these days! Usually get it out, use it and get it back under wraps.

Mirrors seem to be fine - do not move in wind (up to 7000 rpm in top anyway). That extra length of stalk really helps. No more funky chicken moves required! Attachments:

So, with getting the MT from 'Hursts' does this mean that you are in or near Belfast? Was it Ken who sold you it. Best wishes with her
