Hey guys, newbie here I've got a Arrow GP2 end can on my MT, but I want it louder. Not mad loud though like I've heard they can get, don't want the neighbours to hate me. Also I'm a little reluctant to remap because the dealership keeps reminding me that a remap will void my warranty. I've found the leo vince pipe with a small baffle in to help with the back pressure and volume, but will it still need a remap? Help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom.

Most of the MT-10's silencing is done by the cat box, if you replace that bit of the exhaust and then fit an end cat with a baffle - you may end up with a noisier bike with less power and holes in the power delivery. Then if you remove the baffle for a track day you'll get chucked out for noise! The Graves EVR system is generally regarded as the only way of extracting power whilst keeping the noise below deafening - but it might still be too loud for most tracks - assuming you care about that.

If you remap the bike at a dyno which uses woolich racing software then they can fit you a quick shifter and autoblipper while they have it and set it all perfectly on the roller.... Just a thought...

Have you guys had any issues with warranties or dealerships after you've remapped then? That's literally the only thing putting me off a remap, as I want one particularly to try improve the fuel economy 😂

I mentioned my re flash to my dealer when it was in for some work (chain n sprockets), all he asked was where I’d got it flashed, didn’t say owt about warranty issues. He was more interested in the gains the flash provides

I've found the leo vince pipe with a small baffle in to help with the back pressure and volume, but will it still need a remap? Help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom. The Leo vince decat pipe doesn't have a baffle in it, it has a very small silencer (absorption type) which as very little if any effect on back pressure. Noise wise, it doesn't make a huge difference, just takes the harsh edge off the engine note a bit. If you have the potential for neighbour issues and you are concerned about warranty, then my advice is, don't take the cat off. I have the Leo Vince decat with an Arrow Indy can, it is loud no question about that. I had the remap (Woolwich) with Woolwich Race tools added. This gives you a higher quality quickshifter and downshift blipper too. All the remap work was done at J33 dyno in Lancaster, Andy really knows what he is doing, as do pretty much most if not all remap people. This isn't the first bike I have had remapped and when I had access in the past, I have remapped my own bikes myself, so I do know my way around a bike. One thing which became apparent is not all MT10's run the same mixture wise and chatting with Andy at J33, some are very weak with a decat pipe, others are not. The problem here is, you don't know how each bike will be, until you test it. For me, if you are doing the decat pipe route, then remap it, even if its only for peace of mind. If you are worried about warranty or neighbours, leave well alone and go with an end can, as you already have. My statements above, are not prescriptive, but what I found to work best for me.

I gutted the original cat box, and use the original end can, removed the exup and had a ecu flash and custum remap at junction 33 near Lancaster, it was running lean with the the cats removed. Its not the best set up if you want to increase the maximum BHP, think i gained 4 or 5 HP, but through the rev range it is much improved.
As for the noise level with this set up, louder than standard but not as loud as the aftermarket decat pipes i have heard which are just to loud for me, and i'm a fan of meaty sounding bikes.

The bike runs really lean as standard and while a map will make it smoother and gain a few ponies it will use more fuel. Not massive amount more but certrainly don't expect a jump in mpg. My opinion for what its worth is that it's definitely something to get done. Removing the harsh on off throttle alone is worth it.
