I am due to get a Scorpion Decat pipe fitted at the 1st service, having some second thoughts as i quite like the noise without the Decat, any pros and cons for both? Does the decat rob any midrange or cause any other ill effects? More grunt anywhere with or not? Your thoughts would be appreciated

You can reverse the exup valve so it stays open and it makes the standard set up a lot louder, just unscrew the nut on the centre of the exup and turn the little spring clip round to hold it open.

If you decat you are getting a WHOLE lot of noise as almost all of the baffling is done by the cat. Performance wise, there is extra power to be had right throughout the rev range, but in order to optimise this you will need it to be tuned to suit either by an ecu reflash or the addition of a piggy back fuel module and dyno time. Is it worth it? To me it was as I fitted a Leo Vince decat that has a tiny non obstructive baffle which takes the edge off of the volume. Paired with my Akrapovic end can it sounds loud and deep without being offensive. With tuning power is up by 10 bhp through mid to upper mid range which is right where you want it. Your call. This is my SP on the dyno after tuning and adding an autoblipper www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9EHGvptcVI
