Hi everyone
I am new to this forum as I have just purchased a 2016 MT 10. As the last bike I had was a 05 R1 I never really needed an OBD scanner but I’m bound to put a fault code on the MT while doing maintenance in the future. Just wondering which is a good scanner to get for clearing codes etc. Any tips will be much appreciated.

Hi Jezza. Any scanner will do as long as you have an adapter which I happen to make and sell. They're £12 posted. Options are to get a Bluetooth reader then download an ODB app and use your phone as the diagnostic tool. An advantage of this is the Bluetooth reader is small so you can mount your phone to the bars and during a test ride get love time info. With a traditional scanner they're too big to keep connected. App wise, for Android, Torque Pro is excellent. Total cost would be about £18 as the readers are £5 and the app a couple of quid. It's also all transferable between other bikes and cars. Got the traditional code reader route and you'll be looking at about £20 for the reader alone. Also be careful as some readers have been adapted for the Yamaha already which seems great at the time but you can't use it on any other vehicle, unless it's a Yamaha.

What I don't like about Andy's at J33 is he cuts off the perfectly good ODB2 plug and fits the Yamaha one meaning you can't use it on any other vehicle.
