HI just thought id put this thread on , Fitted a b light pro last year ,first MOT done in JUNE so i changed the pattern to solid for our UK MOT worked fine , after MOT when i tried to change to pattern i had been using it wouldnt respond, Got in touch with Healtech they said they had heard of simmilar probs they then e-mailed me a drawing of what to do (this meant wiring a bulb inline to fool the bikes ECU. didnt work ) I took photos of the work i had done and sent it back to them , i got a reply saying buy this diode (from the USA) and you should be okay MMMM I know it is just over 1 year old so out of guarantee but you only change the pattern once a year for MOT i have taken BLP of my bike stuff them. They say its the bikes ECU that wont let it pr.ogram

I have the brake light pro on all my bikes and it is more a peace of mind to me which helps. I think it makes me more visible on the road when braking. I have not had any issues yet with mot, I just push the button and it turns the light back to normal. I just have to make sure I do it in sequence according to manual.

The point is that a flashing light gets the attention of another more than a static light would especially when among other static lights. Your brake light tells other road users you're slowing. When used correctly (lawfully) the flashing brake light tells road users you're really stopping. Take a line of traffic with the motorcyclist in the middle and all travelling at 40mph say. If the bike has to brake hard the light will flash (modulate) giving the other road users better chance of seeing him among all the other lights and brake lamps coming on. In the UK it is legal and indeed standard fit among growing number of manufacturers to have the brake light modulate under harsh braking. It should not come on each and every time. Some EU directive sets out the pulse rate for certain braking forces. Basically with harsh braking it can modulate at one rate. Under emergency braking it can modulate faster. The modulation has to stop when you release the brake. This is one issue with the X Blaster in that, by default if I recall, it modulates on each and every press. Something a few riders want and one reason why most buy this lamp. However as the user above states it won't pass an MOT (unless you have a friendly local independent mechanic/tester). There is a switch you can buy to program the light but this is another £40 on top of the £160 or so that the lamp costs. You can buy much cheaper solutions if you search brake light modulators on line. I have a G Stop which was £8 and is a solid state accelerometer that wires inline with the standard brake lamp feed. It senses two levels of G force activating the pulses at both but faster on the higher level (harshest braking). Sadly G Stop doesn't appear to be available anymore but like I said there are a few solutions over replacing your entire tail lamp. Ultimately it's a safety thing making you more visible under a hazardous condition where we're at a higher risk, hard braking. This can only ever be a good thing.

Hi there can you help me out fella if you will? I have the healtech brake light pro Wire on the module are Black Green Red. On the tail light it’s Black Yellow Blue. As I blew a fuse grrr Can you tell me which wire you cut to put the module in line? That would be a great help. I did a continuity test but blew the fuse. Black earth but what colour is the brake wire? Thanks Delta.

Here ya go. 108 is the brake light, yellow goes to the brake relay and ECU. I’d say yellow but without seeing the schematic of the relay I cannot guarantee this. Be careful with continuity checks as most multimeters actually pass 9v from probe to probe and I know someone who wiped out a car ECU using one as canbus is a much lower voltage! ibb.co/Fb61SDVibb.co/fXrC0CNibb.co/ZcKKrNr

Let me have a look and see what i can find. I would need to take the rear light unit off to verify it and at the moment i'm unable to do it. Here is some further information which the healtech technical support team provided to me which i used when installing the module: ~~~~~~~~ On some new bike models with highly advanced electronics, the ECU may detect a light failure while the BLP is being setup and the setup can not be performed. In this case, please setup the BLP-U01 using this method: - Connect a single 21W or 5W bulb to the unit (as shown on the diagram attached) just to test the module and set it up to the desired mode. - Test and Setup the BLP. See the setup instructions (chapter 4): Healtech BLP-U01 Manual v2- When the BLP is setup, please connect to the bike and most likely it will work fine. ~~~~~~~~ If i find further information i will send it onto you. Good luck and again apologies i can not provide the specific wires i cut. Cheers Jay

That link is duff.
If you do make it plug and play you need the plug and socket as it were as the modulator needs connecting up in line.
