How many if you have had issues with battery drain? On my 3rd new battery from dealers as they've been dropping to 2.5V within 2 weeks of standing! Obviously nothing is left on ie parking light, & there's no engine management light or issues when riding so I'm guessing its charging ok? Can't believe I have to 'leave it on trickle charge' when not in use- I appreciate these batteries are small/light etc but surely they should hold enough charge to start the bike after a couple of weeks?? Bikes currently in main dealers (again) where they're waiting to see it loose charge again before further testing. They say Yamaha UK aren't aware of any issues? Cheers.

I'd be interested to see how you get on.
I don't have quite the same problem but my battery performance has been poor right from the off.
Even with regular trickle charging it barely spins fast enough for it to catch, even after a long run.
My bike is just under a year old.
My other bikes a ZZR1400 has a shorai lithium battery that spins up like a good un even if its been left for a month or more.

MT10s don't have a park light position like older bikes - one click too far (past steering lock) with the ignition key leaves the bike in accessory mode which drains the battery but has no obvious outwardly signs that it's in that mode. I just left my bike 4 months after a house move - no battery tender - and it started on the button.

Correct DM the common and dreaded ‘P’ park position which is one easy ignition switch click pasted the ‘lock’ position is a well known drainer problem for the battery. No actually lights come on but the Hazards lights can be turned on and used and the power socket gets energised up and the battery will drain down within a matter of days... Yamaha do know about that.... Biker66 if key is turned fully anti-clockwise just Turn the key back clockwise a small click to the ‘Lock’ position. biker66 leaving the bike ignition switch in ‘P’ position is problem.

also interested in fixing the problems Just do not turn the ignition switch all the way anti-clockwise to ‘P’. (One click back clockwise off ‘P’ to leave it in ‘Lock’ is the answer. In ‘P’ the can-bus is powered up to allow Hazard lights to work and the power socket becomes live even if nothing is connected the cam-bus being active drains the battery). It’s that ease a fix.
