After 1700 miles in a month i needed to replace the tyres on the Sp .As i have a trip to europe coming up i opted for the new Road fives .Within 30 miles they were good for a thrashing , They are superb and i dont hang about ,shoulder has plenty rubber with no sipes and very confidence inspiring .I would definately take them on a trackday .They heat up super quick .As for using in the rain i cannot answer as of yet .Hopefully they will last way longer than the oem s 20 .

Oh, new PR5 will definitely last. I’d easy bet way way more over twice the distance of S20. I guessed (from having PR4 on MT-09) that PR4 were a bit was / would be to vague feeling on front of 10 when pushed hard. Tho PR5 improved and they will defo be dead on in the wet as the snipes are still across the middle section. I opted Pirelli Angel GT good for trip etc. It will be interesting to hear about the PR5 so keep us posted 👍

The PR5s look like a sensible change from the over-siped (front) PR4s, I expect you to get at least 7,000 miles out of a rear. The front PR4s turned to mush when you pressed on. the PR5s look like they'll hang together properly - there was never anything wrong with the compound of the PR4 - all the issues were over-egged front sipes. Don't worry about rain - I'd bet my house on them being tremendous in the wet. PR5 and Metzeler Roadtec 01 are probably hardly separable - both great sport touring tyres.

Hi guys. In the link you have the photos of my original Bridgestone S20 with 5244 kilometers, I think it was already a change and I decided on the Michelin Road 5. We'll see how it goes and how many kilometers it takes. I have thought of a tire that can last a little longer, that works well in rain, without giving up some moments of being able to feel the thrust of our beast ... we will see. My front tire S20 still have at least 2000 or 3000 kilometers left ... maybe when I change the front, put a Michelin Power Rs ..... Greetings qq0u.app.link/e/gtWYy3BqGT

The Michelin Road 5's are brilliant. The OEM Bridgestone "S20" was terrible, thats if it was really an S20 and not a re-badged cheaper tyre like a lot of OEM's do. Had loads of moments where the rear came out for no reason or the front would tuck.
Having used the Bridgestone R10 on track for several seasons I know that this is not how a Bridgestone tyre should feel. I got rid of the OEM tyres for the Road 5's. My first ever outing on them it was 1*c air temp (so road temps would have been in the minus region), it was damp and the tyres were brand spanking new with 0 miles on them.
Not to much as even the tiniest twitch. Very, very confidence inspiring and despite the cold temps, when I got home the rear was pretty warm to the touch. Fantastic all round tyre for a road bike IMO.
I set the pressures to 34psi rear & 36psi front when cold. Works great at those pressures.

Hello again.
I really agree that they are brilliant.
I'm about 700 km away on Road 5. I thought maybe I could feel some traction loss in strong accelerations, but no, this has not happened.
My feelings, for now, are that they have as much traction as the S20.
Amazing !

^ Agree PR5 reports are good, though no loss of traction on acceleration is not really the ultimate test as tyre not spinning up powering on is not the extreme
I’d say lateral sideways cornering forces and powering on well banked over and running fast into turns is the more extreme tests and the bit that gives coindence in tyres etc.
No doubt the PR5 are very good as yes the original S20 fitted are not great or true S20. I went a few sets of S21 and they were much much better feel etc and not only as the next generation tyre but as they were definitely true Bridgestone Tyres.
I’m now on the Michelin Power RS and omg the comfort and feeling and turn in grip suit the abilities and nature of the bike and me in my humble (and riding style) opinion.
PR5 be great for tour trips. I’ve had Angel GTs on for tour to the grippy Spanish roads compared to Irish slipmac.

I am still undecided between the road 5 and the power rs,i am still on the original s20's at 3800mls now front looks like it could do another 2000mls rear about another 500mls,so i reckon i could make the rs's do a good mileage and all that grip will be a bonus,i only ride it in the summer months,it never sees salt,i will leave that to my lesser bikes.

I got 1700 miles from the original fitment S20 and then replaced with S20 and same 1700 miles and it was worn out in the centre. Just fitted a Road 5 to rear and got a front ready as like to have matched tyres. Only done about 70 miles to scrub it in and there's plenty of grip. I hope it lasts a decent mileage, should do as I've used the older Road 2 on a GSXR1000 and had goood miles about 3500.
