Hi, my cruise control its not working, can some one tell me if the light on the dash flashes when you press the cruise button or is it a solid light ? , i can't remember, mine flashes but when i press the set - switch it does not set, no fault codes showing in the ECU ...... A bit of a pain that i have to ride the bike to test after i have looked at the clutch play, throttle play and brake switches one by one, which i can't find anything out of sorts, gone through this process three times now, any suggestions ?

Have you had the ECU flashed? I know some people have had issues with Cruise not working with some re-flashes.

I’ve read somewhere on here that some people have had problems with cruise control because of aftermarket levers not being the correct fitment and therefore making the cruise control think that the brake is being applied. Thus cancelling out the cruise control.

Turned out to be the rear brake light switch, some wd40 and adjusting did the trick, made things easier when i knew that the light should be solid, so thanks rizla, i originally thought that the light flashed till you pressed the set - switch. Thanks to everyone that replied .... Don't you just love it when something that has been bugging you gets sorted.

Very frustrating. Eventually fixed last week when a mechanic confirmed there were no error codes. So the system is activated and should be working. Something is stopping it. Front brake was fine, but the rear brake was dragging slightly. Again, a quick spray of WD40 and the rear brake no longer prevents the cruise from activating. Happy days.

The rear brake is a nightmare and really quite a crude set up and prone to getting covered in crap. I've eliminated this by making a pressure switch plug and play adapter which also helpfully provides a solution to those who fit aftermarket rear sets.

I have fitted a rear brake pressure switch. I was hoping to ditch the spring switch for the rear brake light however because its tied into the cruise control system it has 4 wires instead of the standard 2 wire setup and I can't figure out how it all works as the brake pressure switch only has 2 wires coming from it.

The rear switch, like those on the front, operate with a normal closed contact (NC) unlike your traditional switches which are normally open (NO) and close the contact on operation. The unit I make takes the NO pressure switch (same with the brake module I make) and run it through a double pole (dual circuit) relay. This way replicates the original operation and maintains all functionality. They're £45 for a complete assembly including the pressure switch. When you get it it just plugs in to the OEM connector and job done. Well Abe for undoing one bolt to ground the unit.
