I have the Custom LED Blaster - X on mine.
Programmable brake light function and integrated indicators.
Ran the same setup on my R1 too.

They would fail the MOT. In the reasons for failure column of the testers manual it states: - A stop lamp emits other than a steady red light

So you can set it to normal when you have it MOT'd.

Quite a few modern bikes and cars have a pulse feature under heavy braking so I doubt it would fail an MOT (depending where you go)
I ran a blaster X custom led integrated tail light with the pulse function on my R1 for 4 years and it never failed an MOT.
I now run a Blaster X on my SP 👍

Not illegal. European directive permits a modulating brake light in emergency situations. It even goes on to permit the flashing of hazards too. Most modern cars have this as standard. Under MOT test conditions the brake light is not tested under force. As these sense harsh braking it would not come on.
Now allow me to get all anal...
E/ECE/324 E/ECE/TRANS/505, Addendum 47, Regulation No. 48, Revision 6, dated June 2010.

6.23.7.2. The emergency stop signal shall operate independently of other lamps.
6.23.7.3. The emergency stop signal shall be activated and deactivated automatically.
6.23.7.3.1. The emergency stop signal shall be activated only when the vehicle speed is above 50 km/h and the braking system is providing the emergency braking logic signal defined in Regulations Nos. 13 and 13-H.

Yep many modern cars will trigger the pulsing brake lights with heavy braking and the hazard lights when you brake in such a way that triggers the emergency brake assist.
