Class. You will not regret getting this shock. Nice (of course, a black spring) one. Thanks, Mate. Yes....Black Spring for sure. LOL I called and talked to them when I order it. We went over my riding needs and what would best fit my use.
I don't do track days, running this bike for solo fun riding and I have a 2nd bike more suited for long haul and two-up riding. Taking this info into consideration, they determined that a properly sprung shock in their Nitron Racing R1 model was more than adequate for what I am doing and would be a massive improvement over the stock shock.
Can't wait. It will be here Friday but I will have to wait till I can book some shop time to get it and the powder coated link parts mounted as I don't have the mechanical skills to attempt this. LOL
No matter as the bike won't see the road for at least another month or so due to winter. I won't get it out till the snow is completely gone and we have had a couple big rains to rinse the salt, sand and liquid de-icer off the roads.
All good stuff mate. Nitron know their stuff. You and the bike will benefit and love it. Cheers.

Nice bike from the design perspective it's very odd that you remove and minimize all the turn signals but yet put bar end mirrors. Sticking like a sore thumb. Secondly your position of your number plate holder (tail tidy) makes your tail looks awfully big to the bike, the reason for that is it is at a wrong angle and too under the tail. Although the bike looks nice blacked out design wise the bike looks out of portion. The only picture bike looked normal and attractive is behind as again you don't notice how bad is the tail tidy is. You could also upgrade your calipers to a nice black. You are doing something great but you still need to work on proportions.
I only write this as I think you are just modifying the bike visually, and if you do, the proportions are the most importing thing in visual arts. Specially such thing as bike design.

Keyboard criticism (is easy). Creation actually doing (is much harder) difficult. Not seen any thigh thing better from ya... All for good debate / and witty banter. Tho fair peer assessment is more desirable and great. I’d say you are not a peer a bit... Anyhow, ‘Black Betty’ is a Beauty and is a well used functioning legal bike and from what I know not an artists concept visual art project drawing. If you show a better bike or you ride a MT/FZ-10 more creedance would be assigned your way. Each to their own, tho maybe you stumbled onto what you thought was Art Students PhD site, not, lol. However, Best (visual) wishes to ya, we ride on.

I only write this as I think you are just modifying the bike visually, and if you do, the proportions are the most importing thing in visual arts. Specially such thing as bike design. Thank you for your reply to my thread.
Lets break this down:
1. The bar end mirrors were just a way to remove the antler like OEM's that show me nothing but a great view of my shoulders. The CRG's were put on as a functional mod to improve my view behind me. I can see everything I need now with just a quick glance.
2. The tail tidy was placed to remove the considerably larger OEM plate and mud flap set up. It is a nice bit of kit that works just fine with the lines of the bike and keeps the plate in a legal visible location avoiding any law enforcement scrutiny.
3. As for your comment on the "Blacking Out" process, I am slowly changing things to black or darker color as money and time allows. While you may have a checkbook that allows you to write a check that covers every possible nut, bolt and other parts to be replaced; I am do this on a time frame that is "AS FUNDS ALLOW". I also don't feel I will need to change out every single piece to black. As for the calipers, they are black. They just have the some silver bits on them.
4. The comment of just modifying the bike visually actual makes me think that you haven't really thought about the mods that have been done to the bike. While I am adjusting the bike to way I want it look visually I am also doing so with parts that do improve the bikes performance as well. The aftermarket wheels are lighter than OEM and the 520 sprocket/chain conversion also is lighter than OEM. This lessens the rotating mass and thusly reduces the amount of power used to move them. The Akrapovic 3/4 System improves the lines and appearance of the bike while removing the weight of the cat and EXUP. Now factor in removal of the AIS system, a proper flash tune to remove the USA restrictions and properly set the mapping of the bike has increased the performance of this bike greatly. The Nitron Racing rear shock that I just received is another example of removing the red while dramatically improving the rear suspension over the OEM rear shock. Having a high quality performance shock that is built to spec for my weight and riding style is very much a functional mod.
5. The thing about "Visual Arts" as you put it is everything is open to interpretation by whomever is viewing the item in front of them. Where you see things out of proportion there are just as many who feel the bike is going in the right direction and love the look. The other thing to remember when modding a motorcycle is that while everyone will have an opinion on it, the only one that matters is mine. I am making this bike "My Own" using my own vision and for no one else. It is nice to hear people pay compliments to the bike but if someone doesn't like it that really doesn't affect my view of it.
Cheers,
Bogie

I also have to disagree with Tan (may for first time since we know each other ) , i like pretty much how the bike it is right now , also cannot see something wrong with the tidy tail or the mirrors . Really liking the style of Bog ; gonna say ,everyone got own "20 cents" by the way.

well, we cant all like the same things otherwise we will have all the same bikes, I was just talking about proportions, to my eye, something about the tail tidy is a little odd, bar end mirrors not my thing I think. Soon I will upload my bike as well. I think I like the idea of black powder coating the rear sets. your shock is great i have just seen it. Again my actual comment wasn't to upset but criticise in a good way.

The rearsets were another change to black that was functional as well. They are Woodcraft racing and offer a good range of adjustability. They allow me to position the pegs back and up like I prefer them.
Look forward to seeing the pics of your ride what you have done to make it your own.
Cheers
