hi there must say.. your bike is looking awesome..like to ask did you put a 525 chain or did you fit a 530 ?? ... i have nearly finished adding a few touches to my bike and will add some pics soon as its done.. plus dont know what to do about having the ecu on mine reflashed as not sure if it will void the warranty on the bike... I've been with my dealer for many years and have modded all my bikes. He has always assured me that the changes I make will not be a factor in my warranty.
As for the chain and sprockets, they are 520. The sprockets are the same ratio as well. No to change that on this bike as the front comes up no problem as it is with the low end grunt. LOL The 520 chain and sprockets are lighter than the stock 525 which is less rotating mass.
Yes the stupid sprocket guard is gone and it is not needed.

So I bought some extra parts and have modified them slightly. I removed the stupid little nub on the side stand and cut off the part of the side stand bracket that the CAT use to mount to. I then took those and the rear shock linkage parts to the powder coating and got them done in what they call Black Jack Matte Finish.
Powder Coater sent pics. Picking them up tomorrow!

when do you expect to have it all done and back to gether... looking forward to seeing the finished project Still looking for a painter to do the work that will do a quality job for me. Waiting for winter to clear out of here. I have a small apartment garage with no lights/electrical so I can't do any work out there till the Spring warm up. I honestly don't expect to see these two projects complete till late March or early in April at this point.

Braved the semi less chilly weather while there was some bright sun shine to get the Gilles Tooling Sprocket Cover put on the FZ10 today. You can also see the newly powder coated shift knuckle above it.

Class. You will not regret getting this shock. Nice (of course, a black spring) one. Thanks, Mate. Yes....Black Spring for sure. LOL I called and talked to them when I order it. We went over my riding needs and what would best fit my use.
I don't do track days, running this bike for solo fun riding and I have a 2nd bike more suited for long haul and two-up riding. Taking this info into consideration, they determined that a properly sprung shock in their Nitron Racing R1 model was more than adequate for what I am doing and would be a massive improvement over the stock shock.
Can't wait. It will be here Friday but I will have to wait till I can book some shop time to get it and the powder coated link parts mounted as I don't have the mechanical skills to attempt this. LOL
No matter as the bike won't see the road for at least another month or so due to winter. I won't get it out till the snow is completely gone and we have had a couple big rains to rinse the salt, sand and liquid de-icer off the roads.
