Are they worth fitting? Early reports I read said they don't get that hot but my local dealer reckons the issue has been sorted and they work fine now! cheers

I Have them and they are set up correctly, not impressed with the heat output, nothing like the OEM on the Tracer 900
I have oxfords on another bike much better heat output

Early ones low heat due to only half of the grip having heating elements. Folk reported the Later newest ones have elements all the way round and are therefore better.

I've got the Yamaha heated grips and they're great, the other day I actually had to drop from setting 3 to 2 after ten mins as they got too hot! (Ambient temp 1-2 degrees c)

Not sure if the datatool grips are still available, had them on a Fazer, worked great, no control box either, simple slide control and could wire direct to battery, had fancy electronics to stop battery drain etc, were nice n warm too

Have OEMs on my 2017 MT. Very warm, as good as the R&G's on my ZZR.

I think iv'e been stitched up by my dealer then,my bike is only 7 weeks old and the Yamaha grips are shite, when they are on full they are the same as the oxfords on 50% so they are coming off and oxfords going on,don't like the lazy way they were wired in either,do a much better job myself, fitted about 10 sets of oxfords in the last year.

Possible old version. I Read that old stock ones elements are only round one half of the diameter. And newer later ones there more element all the way round.

I have Yamaha heated grips complained that they were shite got them checked by the dealer who said thats how they are.... Complained at motorcycle live on the Yamaha stand and told they have different settings for different bikes.... see attached setup instructions. Guess what mine were set to scooter setting, altered them and there are hotter but not had a test ride yet. Hope this helps. Attachment Deleted

Hi Devildog,I too complained on the stand, told them mine were already on the max setting and once you get to 50mph it's like they are not even on.He said he would send another set to my dealer,i suspect he thinks mine are the mk1,let's hope these are better, the only problem I have got is now the salt is here iv'e put the bike away & am using my winter bike,i am going to take these off myself and ask for the others.

Any updates on the yam grips anyone? I've been an Oxford man myself in the past but don't want another controller on an already busy switch cluster/handle bar.
