The 3D Ultras are £144.95 for a pair free postage on eBay at the moment. Please can you provide a link? Thanks

Update, 3rd trackday and about 3,000 miles. I had one little rear slide on the last session - probably pushing the rear a bit too hard for a road tyre, just about everyone in the inters groups has diablo super corsas and tyre warmers these days! Still, massively impressed.

^ Border lines of the (fairly narrow) harder central compound strip clearly visible. It’s on to the softer side compound fairly soon into the turn 👍

Still lovin' these - but got an amazing update on a Thunderbird forum, someone ordered a 3D Ultra Sport by mistake (instead of a Storm XM) but fitted it anyway - these are 350Kg bikes with tonnes of torque - and eat rear tyres. So far he's done 6K miles and still has tread left! Update on mine, I've had the pegs down without the tyres budging an inch, also done a trackday in the wet with no scary moments - still can't believe they're £158 a set! I am still on std Bridgestone think I will go with your recommendation . Still enjoying destroying the standard tyres

I am still on std Bridgestone think I will go with your recommendation . Still enjoying destroying the standard tyres I thought the OE S20s felt good, probably gripper than the Avons (not that I've had a problem with grip on either tyre **), but then they should be as the S20s barely last 2,000 miles! But I think you'd only notice the extra grip on a track, as a road tyre, the Avons are great. I didn't want to go for a full sport touring tyre that I know I can't use on a track, so the Avon 3D Ultra Sport is a good "in-between" tyre, will last 5,000+ miles with decent wet grip but give more grip than a Sport Touring tyre in the dry and will be usable on the track as long as you're not trying to hang out in the fast group. I think most riders (unless they're track addicts) won't get near the limit of most modern sport bike tyres. **I did have one massive front end slide on the OE S20s, I think the state of the badly broken up B-road was to blame more than the tyres.

(Widish) more grey central harder compound strip visible. Attachment DeletedS21r has another 3rd softest compound right at the very edges.

Well my Pirelli Angel GT's failed a little early... Only just touching the wear bars. I didn't fancy a long ride on that as I'm told that they disintegrate quickly once they start. So its in tomorrow for the Avon Ultrasport's, they did really well in the PB road and track tests coming either 3rd or 4th overall depending how you look at it as 2 were tied for 2nd place, I'm sure they are an excellent choice even if I disregard the price. As it happens the S21 won the track portion of the test Track 1 Bridgestone S21 2 Pirelli Rosso Corsa 2 3 Avon 3D Ultra Sport 4 Michelin Power RS 5 Continental Sport attack 3 6 Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 7 Metzeler M7 RR 8 Sportsmart 2 Ovearall 1 S21 =2 M7 RR =2 Power RS 3 3D Ultra sport 4 Sport Attack 3 5 Rosso 3 6 Rosso Corsa 2 7 Sportsmart 2

After 130 miles I'm very happy with them, only one minor slide at the rear when I got a bit brave throwing the bike about on a roundabout and it was progressive, not scary at all. They seem to have sharpened up the handling a bit and are still very neutral, I am comparing them to a toasted pair of Angel GT's though.

I've been scraping the pegs without them budging an inch, what pressures are you running? On the road I've been running 35F 38R, on the track I've started with 30F 28R cold.

Standard 36/42 but this was only about 80 miles in and the SDGT engine is a torquy thing with 106 Lb:Ft, this bike also has the Austin Racing can which claims to add a couple more. I pushed the tyres further over than before and got a bit of a slip. No big deal really.
There could have even been some melting tar there but I didn't see it at the time.
I might experiment with pressures after a few more rides.
