Morning all!
OK Had my first outing to Brands Hatch yesterday on the MT10, here are my thoughts
My SP has a scorpion Decat and standard Can, FlashTune ECU to disable AIS and ActiveTune keeping the fuel map in check
Firstly - noise - the limit for the day was 101db and that is exactly what I can in at. They have a driveby limit on the track of 92db and when I was noise tested he said I was really on the limit and I would probably get pulled up on the driveby monitors at some point. As it happened I got 3 sessions on full volume, then had to use a baffle to bring the noise down for the last 3 sessions
Power - Power wise she was amazing on track, the torque pulling out of corners is amazing and she was keeping up with the majority of the track bikes out there ( i was in the intermediate 1 group) there really was no problem with power until I had to use the baffle
This does a great job of bringing the noise down, I went from the loudest bike on track (by far according to the other riders) to the quietest, but it also removed at least 25% of the available power, and suddenly I'm being overtaken by every man and his granny...
If you want to use one of these baffles, you will need to drill some more holes in it as it is far too restrictive and brings the noise levels down too much. More holes would make it more suitable.
Suspension - I had my suspension looked at by Paul @ RaceLab whilst I Was there - £99 for a rider specific setup. He was a little unsure how the electronics work but eventually set me up with some settings that worked really well.
Leaning - I have been to Brands a few times and am used to getting my knee down, but last bike was an R1 and it was insanely easy on that. On the MT I struggled, mainly because of the peg position (standard rearsets) I found that I was scraping the little ball on the bottom of the peg before my knee, so I removed them, then on a left hand bend it felt a little better and I was managing to get a much better feel for it - but on a right hander I struggled more, at one point I actually scraped the exhaust on the ground before my knee touched which was a little worrying! I'm not sure if anything can be done about that - maybe some new rearsets so I can adjust my riding position more.
These are my main points for the day, overall she ran really well and apart from having to refuel twice I have no real complaints!
I hope this info is useful to someone out there!, Some pics HERE
