Morning all! So over the weekend I fitted the FlashTune ActiveTune system that goes with the FlashTune ECU flashing kit I had already.
This involved getting a wideband sensor bung welded onto my Scorpion midpipe as it didn't have one already ( I believe the Acra decat pipe has the bung already)
Basic principle - Remove the standard LAMBDA narrowband sensors from exhaust and unplug from bike (One us under the tank so that has to come off.) Screw in new narrowband sensor to mid pipe, feed the cable up and under the seat. There is a second cable which houses the controller that then plugs into the cable you have just run under the seat, then into the left hand standard LAMBDA sensor which sits on the left hand side of the bike, close to the gear lever. Took about 30 minutes to fit
Then it's simply a case of enabling it on the software and reflashing the ECU
So now I am running an unrestricted map (thich comes with the software) that has a standard fuel map, but it now trims itself on the move to ensure it is running optimally.
Results? I have my midrange back that I lost with the decat, second gear is now crazy powerful right through the range. I havent had a chance to test it properly yet but am goign to Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks so will get the full results then.
Bad points? I have lost A mode - My Bike is an SP so has 4 driving modes, ABCD. A was really sharp previously which I liked, but now it is pretty soft and I now use B mode as the sharpest throttle response.
Happy to answer any questions!
