My MT10 is running poorly at low revs.
It’s fine at tickover or above 4000 rpm but between those points it seems to misfire, only very briefly though.
Inevitably it’s when I’m doing low speed manoeuvres or filtering through lines of traffic.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Rich

First thoughts are injectors. This being as at higher revs the fuel is fed in at a higher pressure. This may explain the low rev only issue. Give it a dose of injector cleaner and fill your next 3 or 4 tanks with the good stuff from Esso et al.
I'm mindful of offering advice on a paragraph of text and not seeing or experiencing the problem but this is a quick one to try that will do no harm at all.
Keep us posted.

Unusual... Agree Charwood though. Your get bad fuel got anywhere. Original spark plugs. It would help to know, decat, remap and; how many miles are on the bike ?

Thanks mate I’ve bought some Frosts Petrol Conditioner and will run that through... if we are ever allowed out again! Richie

No performance mods. I picked it up last September and it’s now done 4000 miles. Only a couple of hundred this year though. I presume it’s still on original plugs. I’ve bought some Frosts fuel conditioner and will run a tank or two through on that. I the last fuel I bought was Shell 95 octane. Should I give 97 or 99 a go? I didn’t buy it for its economy but the consumption is appalling. I dont get more than 100 miles out of a tank, although my commutes can be tediously slow 1st and 2nd gear stuff. Richie

Yeah try to get the old fuel out and some nice fresh high as possible octane petrol in.
Think the conditioner is more about storing bike up.
See what it’s like After fresh fuel.
At 4K miles it should not need injector cleaner, but some may do no harm. It is unusual for MT to have this issue.
Air filter next, could be a small very dead bird or something in there.
Guess it’s out of warranty.
Go Step by step.
Oh here check the EXUP exhaust valve is not seized stuck open, very unusual, they tend to seize shut and the issue would be less high end power, worth a check thought does it move freely but guess if stuck that that would throw up an engine check light on.

Cheers Not yet mate. Being on lock down has scuppered plans for long rides in the Spring. Unfortunately.

I’m due to go to the Classic TT / Manx GP in August (fat chance now) so I’ll get it serviced before then. Cheers Ritchie

Fresh fuel, fuel cleaner e.g. Millers Eco Max and some fresh plugs.
Always a good place to start with a misfire on a modern bike engine.
Anybody found the Iridum type NGK for the MT10 yet?
