Eskdale to Ambleside X Plane kirkstone pass is going from Ambleside to Ullswater Cheers. I rode Kirkstone Pass on my MT-09 passing thru the Lake District on holiday 2015. Thread names of Hardkott and Wryrose Passes I'd didn't know about or where they where in relation to Kirkstone Pass. Next time that I'm over I'll scoot over them. Attachment DeletedThanks.

I went with a group last weekend and we did Hardknott and Rhynose, Honister and Kirkstone passes. Hardknott and Rhynose are amazing, really steep and very tight hairpins. The MT10 is possibly the perfect bike for it.

By the eck I did them yesterday ! Only went out for a quick blast after my hols but ended up doing 220 miles lol. I nipped up M6 to Carnforth then A6. Had a butty at Milnthorpe, up Lyth Valley to Bowness then on to Ambleside. From there through Chapel Stile and Great Lingdale and up over Wrynose and Hardnott. A well earned brew at train stop, then picked up the A595 back down to A6 and home. Lovely day up there with perfect biking weather. Just picked up a bit of a shower on way home. First time over that way on the MT10 and it took it all in its stride. Road surface over the passes is getting worse every year though not much better than a cart track in places now. I also see they are in the process of ruining the 595 with loose chippings ! Mind you it will be worn away by next spring lol

Had another day up the Lakes today with the mrs this time. Went up to Keswick via Bowness and Ambleside then over Honister pass and back down the A595. Honister much better surface than the other two, and the 595 isnt too bad now the new grit has bedded in. Lovely road and pretty much free from traffic. Saw another black MT10 at Keswick butty van but didnt see the owner.

Seen a video of old-ish guys falling over on the bends up on those steep passes. Too high a gear and stalling seemed to catch some out. Guess one side most likely steeper than the other. Looks like going up the steepest sides catches some out. No problem to the Big MT tho I reckon

Nice pics. I haven't been on the MT yet. Did it last year on the AT. Love it up there.
