The bad news is Ive just had a hernia operation so I won't be able to even put it on for about six weeks!
Oh well, something to look at over the holidays I suppose...

Yeah, as said, get well soon.
Out of interest what was the cost of this and did you specify the 10.25 spring and if so what is your fully kitted weight?

Any reason for your choice over a Nitron unit or similar?

This is my third Maxton. I had one on my R1, I've got one on my zzr1400. So just a case of the devil you know really.
Had a base nitron on my vfr800 along time ago. It was a good unit.
Don't know anything about k tech, and penske and ohlins are to expensive,in this country anyway.

Yeah, speedy recovery. Suggest ya Pay for it to be fitted; while you recover. An ABBA bike stand is needed etc. Bike will be class. My Nitron transformed bike and is class.
PS Well done that Santa 😊

Cheers xplane.
I have abba stand and a load of tools so will put it on myself at some stage. Managed it on my other bikes. Maybe took a long time but got there in the end...
Big cheers to everyone who said get well soon, really appreciate it.
Merry Christmas!

Well I finally got round to fitting the shock.
First the bad news.
Every nut, bolt and bearing was as dry as a bone.
Loads of corrosion and it took ages to clean up and grease everything.
I seriously recommend anyone intent on keeping their bike any amount of time to get in there and have a good clean up and grease everything as I can't imagine that lot lasting long without seizing at some point.
Yes it was that bad.
Wish I took pics to post but didn't think of it at the time.
Mine is a low mileage 2018 model that has hardly seen rain.
Now the good news.
Ride comfort is now great and handling even better.
Only adjustments I made were one turn less preload to get 10 mm static and 5 mm longer on shock length.
Is it worth the money?
This is the third Maxton I have had and will probably get one for my next bike, whatever that may be.
And the hernia is now much better!
Cheers.
