My last 2 fuel stops have been 35.5 and 37.5mpg.

Across the range of uses/usage average (U.K.) mpg can span over any number in the thirties.
Creeps up into the forties are rare.
Therefore on the original point if F-Trip/reserve amount of fuel after the E Empty light blinks is estimated at guess of around 4 litres then F-Trip of give or take 25 miles or if lucky maybe 30 or so mile range, is real squeaky bum time, before a bone dry (chug chug) halt out of fuel possibility.
So short answer is I think that 30 miles could be pushing it for some.
