Hi All,
No offence to the owner of this website. I really do appreciate it being available for me to create threads, read about hints & tips and just general MT10 information.
But i wonder if the lack of input on here compared to the old forum is due to the look of the website and forum? When i first bought my MT10, i registered on both forums and just found the old now dead one easier on the eye. Easier to sneak in a quick update or look for any new posts while at work.
Maybe it is a personal preference and my thoughts. I really hope i have not offended anybody in the creation of this thread. Maybe the old MT10 crowd have not found this forum.
Cheers

It's definitely quiet compared to the other/old forum, maybe in time it'll pick up but forums these days are never as busy as facebook. Personally I prefer the forums as they can hold easily accessible info whereas fb posts get lost in time.
One thing I have observed is there seems to be no admin on here and no moderators, I messaged admin a while back and have got no reply. On the old forum admin disappeared, surely it can't be a repeat !

I hope this forum doesn't disappear as the old one, its down to everyone to keep it going, not just an individual

I think the problem is there are too many sections which spreads activity out too much making the place feel dead, cut down on the number of distinct places and the site will pick up. Perhaps condense the site to seven categories?: General (Lounge) Tech Talk Performance Mods Accessories and Tyres New Members Gallery For Sale and Wanted

It's the nature of forums, they're always quiet at this time of year, give it time it may pick up in the New Year.

Also, what will help, is if posts are kept in the correct sections. Again the old forum had info all over the place, with very little order. I am not advocating Sargent Major style order, but you need some order on a forum, otherwise it degenerates into a mess.

The displaying of the latest posts is not as good here as the old forum’s listing was. The old forum had that list that appeared on the right hand side that showed the first few lines or two of the thread; which I think helped make people read the rest of the thread and respond more. It’s a format thing but the old forum format interface was better I believe. Here just shows new or your participated list. Yep, winter is quieter and not so many members on here.

I guess it is called "UK forum" which might put some of the old members off, plus it's winter here, so less biking activity going on.

Also need the odd argument or two with others to liven things up, lol.

Wind ups, mercents, friends and the usual spread of folk and knowledge lead to banter and sharing and bit of huffing too, lol. Still think format here not as visually easy to see stuff.

Hi crew
Agree about having to search for for the latest threads without them appearing automatically takes a bit of getting used to however they are highlighted. Also being from Australia we don't seem to have the numbers to run an Australian based MT10 forum so I have joined the USA and UK based forums since the untimely demise of the other site. Personally I tend not to post too often on either forum for the reason that the forums are titled UK & USA members which implies to me exclusiveness. While the weather may be a bit cold and shite up north for riding, down here it's not a lot of joy as the temp is around 40*c in my neck of the woods. Anyways, Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all the MT/FZ10 brethren, wherever you may be.
Cheers
